The coughing in my house this past week has been enough to drive me crazy. Obviously I feel sorry for my little guys but the noise from all the coughing is enough to give me a headache. And now it's starting to feel like fingernails scratching a chalkboard...I'm so over it and I know they are too!! Poor babies.
At night all I hear through both monitors is coughing. So they aren't sleeping well and mommy isn't sleeping well. (Daddy is though because he can sleep through anything.)
Last night Matthew woke up around 10:30 and started sobbing and saying his ear really hurt. I've never seen him in real pain before so this was new to me. I put in some numbing drops and tried to get him to take the ONLY medicine he will even consider putting in his mouth, and even that is hit or miss. (Tylenol Meltaways). Of course last night was a miss so I had to just listen to him cry and roll around in pain. I knew he was hurting when he actually told me to go back downstairs!! He has NEVER wanted me to leave him alone before.
I did end up having to go back up to his room a few more times over the next hour to help calm him down and cuddle him. My heart was just breaking for him. He finally fell back asleep and slept good for the rest of the night. I am so sick of this mess!! :(

(Craig stayed home with the sick boys while I went to work. Thank goodness his job allows him to work from home. He sent me this picture...haha.)

(cuddled up giving kisses to my happier sick kid.)

(Don't let the picture fool you. This mess was a joint effort on both their parts! I knew it was too quiet up there....)
Now if I can just figure out how to get Matthew to take his medicine we'll be set. Can't hide it in juice-he can always taste it. Can't force it in his mouth-he gags and throws up. Can't bribe him-he just doesn't care. Can't reason with him-he's 3...
I'm about to lose my mind trying to get him to take 3/4 of a teaspoon of stuff that looks and smells like strawberry milk once a day for 10 days. Suggestions welcome!!!
